BC's Guide to Career Fair Success

The Night Before:

1. Research, research, research

  • Visit the career section on company websites, peruse the vault guide to consulting, even wikipedia helps in figuring out which firms peak your interest and thus who you need to spend the most time with tomorrow night.  Try to prepare for at least 3-4 firms so that you can jump to another booth if one firm has a long queue of people.

2. Bring enough resumes to give one to every firm

What is Consulting?

Confused about what consulting truly is, but you obviously don't want to ask that in a company information session or career fair?

Look no further.

To give consulting a brief definition, consultants advise companies on specific (but many times varied) business problems.

We have also attached key ideas behind the consulting industry (as seen on Opening Night 9/30).

The short answer?

It depends.

Networking Tips and Tricks

Networking is an important part of landing that dream job. In fact more than half of people who land a job did so by either referral or networking with people at the firm. Networking is not only advantageous in finding the right job but also learning what job is right for you.

Networking can be nerve racking or uncomfortable for many students. If you fall into this category, don’t sweat it, BC is here to help. The key to improving like anything else is practice. Come to our events listed on our events page and start practicing today!
